Have you noticed the new PokerPro texas hold’em poker tables? The first time I saw the PokerPro tables was about three weeks back when I took a short vacation with my mother to the WinStar Betting house in Oklahoma.
As I anxiously waited for my turn to be summoned at the live tables, I observed how the other people at the PokerPro tables interacted with one another. It was very interesting to say the least. Because the poker table was controlled by a computer, there have been no poker chips to do any chip tricks, no cards to shuffle and the real live experience was stagnant. Perhaps I was the only one that recognized this, but I did observe the players in the table had a lifeless quality to them. The reason for this might be since there was no human interaction with the dealer, the atmosphere was rather boring and the gamblers looked uninterested. It was nearly as if I was seeing a live variation of an online texas holdem poker room instead of being seated with warm bodied humans. It was a little freaky and I kept flashing back to an episode of Star trek and the holodeck broke down.
Since the waiting time for the reside tables was over an hour, I made a decision to see how the casino game play was and to encounter this new texas holdem poker gaming technology. After wagering a few hands, I actually felt like I was betting at house. The lack of activity at the table was the main reason. I like to shuffle my chips, stack my chips, and mix my cards about. None of those things are feasible at these computer tables.
An additional thing I noticed was how the program dealt the flop, turn and river cards. I wagered a good deal of hands at the PokerPro table and discovered that the play was a good deal like a web based holdem poker site. That might have been just a coincidence, except I found it to become incredibly odd.
After wagering a couple of rounds with this "new hold’em poker technology", I made a decision that the PokerPro tables were not for me. I’m much better off wagering texas hold em poker on the internet at house and not travel the distance. If WinStar Casino were to get rid of the live poker tables, I think they would loose a good deal of gamblers.
