Online Big Stakes Poker- Gus Hansen
April 9th, 2016 by Angeline

Gus Hansen enjoyed a marvelous year on the World Poker Tour where he was the only gambler to make it to the final table in three of the competitions. Gus Hansen has been seen on High Stakes Poker on GSN where he bought into the game for $400, 000. You may remember one of the biggest pots in big stakes poker recorded history against Daniel Negreanu. Hansen won a big pot with quads against Daniel’s full house. Hansen has made many tv poker appearances and is considered to be one of the strongest gamblers in the world. While wagering on web poker, a different side of Hansen has appeared. He often participates in the 200/400 NL maximum buy in of $40, 000. Hansen generally buys-in for the min of $16, 000 and plays very weak. He sits there waiting for a good hand and then goes all-in. I believe Gus is a great poker player but not even close to the everyday players at 200/400NL. Unless he is bankrupt, he has little or no reason to play at the game with the minimum buy in.

Playing for the min takes almost all of the skill out of big stack poker. Hansen is presumed to be one of the best players anywhere in the world but he cannot buy in for the total amount. I think television can alter our view of the real world sometimes. The greatest poker players in the world might just be players you have never heard of before. Gus can be found participating in net poker on Full Tilt. He commonly plays in big stakes omaha eight-or-better and Holdem. Gus has shown himself as a competition player. Can he back up his abilities in cash games?
