Phil Ivey has been branded as the best poker player on the planet by most of the top pros. Phil Ivey was born in Riverside, CA and relocated to New Jersey before his first birthday. His papa taught Phil one cent-ante Five-Card Stud poker. From then on on, he was addicted to poker and wanted to learn whatever he could about poker. He routinely would tell his grandparents that he wanted to be a professional poker player. Phil did not allow the negative feedback from others annihilate his goal of being one of the greatest poker players on the planet.
He started playing intently after acquiring a fake ID with the name of Jerome. He honed his techniques at the casinos of Atlantic City. The initial number of years for Phil were a teaching period and coming away with a win wasn’t a common thing at the time. Phil made his mark at the 2000 World Series of Poker where he achieved two final tables and came away with his 1st WSOP bracelet, in a $2, five hundred Pot-Limit Omaha game. At the final table he destroyed a number of the well known pros including "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.
Phil decided to take his game to the successive level and moved out west to Sin City. Phil continues to participate in in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the best players on the planet. Ivey credits his achievements to discipline and an immeasurable love for poker. Phil states that he is learning every day and is incredibly abashed about his accomplishments. Phil admits to making errors every single game of poker and always strives to improve.
Despite the fact that Ivey has come first in some large tournaments, he likes destroying money games on a normal basis.
