Caribbean Poker Protocols and Tips
August 24th, 2019 by Angeline

Poker has become globally acclaimed lately, with televised tournaments and celebrity poker game events. Its popularity, though, arcs back quite a bit farther than its TV ratings. Over the years several variations on the original poker game have been developed, including some games that are not really poker anymore. Caribbean stud poker is one of these particular games. Despite the name, Caribbean stud poker is most closely affiliated with blackjack than long-standing poker, in that the players wager against the bank instead of the other players. The succeeding hands, are the traditional poker hands. There is little concealment or other kinds of deceptiveness. In Caribbean stud poker, you are required to pay up just before the dealer announcing "No more wagers." At that instance, both you and the house and of course all of the different gamblers receive 5 cards each. Once you have looked at your hand and the casino’s 1st card, you need to in turn make a call wager or surrender. The call bet’s amount is on same level to your original wager, meaning that the stakes will have doubled. Bowing out means that your bet goes immediately to the bank. After the bet comes the face off. If the house does not have ace/king or greater, your wager is given back, with an amount in accordance with the ante. If the casino does have ace/king or greater, you succeed if your hand defeats the dealer’s hand. The house pays out money even with your bet and controlled expectations on your call wager. These odds are:

  • Equal for a pair or high card
  • two to one for 2 pairs
  • three to one for three of a kind
  • 4-1 for a straight
  • 5-1 for a flush
  • 7-1 for a full house
  • 20-1 for a 4 of a kind
  • 50-1 for a straight flush
  • 100-1 for a royal flush
