Double-hand Poker is a modern game with ancient ancestry. Founded on the old Chinese domino game and the current American variation of poker, Pai Gow poker combines the east with the western in an excellent game for starting gamblers.

Pai Gow is a poker game that puts the gambler against the casino, not like most other poker games that players play with other gamblers. By competing against the dealer, beginning players don’t need to worry about other, more skillful individuals taking their $$$$.

One more Pai Gow edge is the relatively slow game play, rookies can take their time and scheme while not having to make quick choices.

It is also easier to play for a very long time with just a little bit of money since, to lose, both of your hands must be under each of the dealer’s hands.

Pai Gow uses 53 cards; the regular 52-card basic deck and one joker. The player is assigned seven cards face up and the casino gets seven cards faces hidden.

A 5 card hand and one two card hand must be put together from the seven cards, the five card hand has to be stronger than the 2 card hand. To win, a player is required to have both of his hand totals to be higher than the casino’s.
