Internet Big Stakes Poker- Who is Gus Hansen?
November 8th, 2023 by Angeline

Gus Hansen experienced a marvelous year on the World Poker Tour where he was the only participant to make it to the last game in three of the competitions. Gus Hansen has appeared on High Stakes Poker on GSN where he paid $400, 000 to play. You might recall one of the biggest pots in big stakes poker recorded history competing against Daniel Negreanu. Hansen raked in a huge pot with quads against Negreanu’s full house. Gus has made many televised poker appearances and is considered to be one of the greatest enthusiasts in the world. While competing in online poker, a different side of Hansen has been seen. He regularly plays in the 200/400 NL maximum buy in of $40, 000. Hansen generally buys-in for the min of Sixteen Thousand dollars and plays very poorly. He waits patiently for a good hand and then pushes all in. I accept that Gus is an outstanding poker player but certainly not even close to the everyday players at 200/400no limit. Unless Gus is penniless, he has absolutely no reason to settle at the table with the min buy-in.

Playing for the minimum takes a majority of the expertise out of big stack poker. Gus is accepted to be one of the best players in the world but he cannot buy in for the full dollar value. I think tv can alter our perception of the real world sometimes. The best poker players anywhere in the world could be guys you have won’t have heard about. Gus can be seen betting on web poker on Full Tilt. He usually plays in high stakes omaha high and texas hold’em. Gus has shown himself as a tournament player. Can he back up his talents in cash games?
