Caribbean Poker Rules and Pointers
June 27th, 2024 by Angeline

Online poker has become world acclaimed recently, with televised events and celebrity poker game shows. Its popularity, though, stretches back quite a bit further than its TV ratings. Over the years many variants on the original poker game have been created, including a handful of games that are not in reality poker anymore. Caribbean stud poker is one of these particular games. Regardless of the name, Caribbean stud poker is most closely related to vingt-et-un than old guard poker, in that the gamblers bet against the house instead of the other players. The winning hands, are the long-standing poker hands. There is little bluffing or other kinds of deception. In Caribbean stud poker, you are required to pay up before the croupier declares "No further bets." At that instance, both you and the dealer and of course every one of the different gamblers acquire 5 cards each. After you have observed your hand and the bank’s initial card, you must either make a call bet or bow out. The call wager’s amount is equal to your original wager, meaning that the risks will have increased two fold. Abandoning means that your ante goes directly to the bank. After the bet comes the conclusion. If the house does not have ace/king or greater, your bet is given back, with a sum in accordance with the ante. If the house does have ace/king or better, you succeed if your hand beats the casino’s hand. The house pays chips even with your ante and controlled odds on your call bet. These expectations are:

  • Even for a pair or high card
  • two to one for 2 pairs
  • three to one for three of a kind
  • four to one for a straight
  • five to one for a flush
  • 7-1 for a full house
  • 20-1 for a 4 of a kind
  • fifty to one for a straight flush
  • one hundred to one for a royal flush
